Our Projects Impact Stories

AGBER in Benue State, Nigeria

JERRY BRAZZEL MEMORIAL WELL - This well honors the memory of Mr. Jerry Brazzel of Dubach, Louisiana - the late husband of Princess Dianah Brazzel, formerly of Lafayette Louisiana. They were very good family friends of the Okorie family that they treated so well during their early days in Louisiana, and he was an astute Sunday School Teacher as well as an Engineering Consultant for several Oil and Gas companies. They helped the Okorie pay cover half of the airfare for their children to be re-united with them back in the USA when Dr. Okorie was completing his Ph.D. work at the USL in Lafayette. So, in May 2024, Dr. Okorie and his grown children put together some funds and drilled a Memorial well to honor Jerry's life and appreciate his amiable wife Mrs. Dianah Brazzel - a very loving and giving family that have addicted themselves to the service of others around them.

This deep well (about 93m or 305 ft.) now serves the Village community of AGBER village, MBATIAV in Benue State and the new NKST Church plant there. Population served is about 9,000 people plus their animals.

Jan 2025:  while I was visiting Nigeria, I had the honor and joy of celebrating the anniversary of the water well my children and I donated to the remote village of AGBER in Benue State, Nigeria. The day was filled with true village generosity and overflowing gratitude. They honored us with gifts of a live goat, heaps of yam tubers, and a big sack of freshly harvested oranges from their nearby farms. To crown it all, we were served their favorite dish — pounded yam garnished with delicious dried and seasoned fish.

But the greatest gift was spiritual: during the well dedication, after I preached the gospel, nearly half of the village adults gave their lives to Christ. We prayed together, and the joy of salvation flowed like the fresh water from the new well.

This celebration was more than a physical blessing — it was a testimony of God’s abundance, both in provision and in eternal life.

NKST Church Agber Community Water Well – Field Report

Project Date: May 2024
Well Depth: 93 meters (305 ft)
Casing: 5"
Pump: 1 HP submersible
Estimated Beneficiaries: 15,000+ people plus their animals.

The NKST Church AGBER community received its first major clean‑water source in May 2024. According to the first, second, and third traditional chiefs, this is the largest and most significant water project ever completed in the community. Before this well, families relied on distant streams, and women often spent nights waiting for water.

Community members shared that the new well brings safety, dignity, and relief. Women no longer face the dangers of snake bites or the risk of assault while searching for water at night. During the dry season, residents previously walked up to 20 km to find safe drinking water. This hardship has now been eliminated.

The entire community expressed deep joy and gratitude for the project and offered prayers for the ministry. They also appealed for one or two additional wells, noting that their population is large and the demand on this single water source will be high.
