Dear Friends:

A Word in due Season for you - Read I Corinthians 9

Do soldiers go to war at their own expense?

6Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living? 7Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? ... 11If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? 12 If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more?

Those gallant soldiers at war in Iraq and Afghanistan are not there at their own expense, right? They are taking care of business for us so we can be more secure here. So, we the people (tax payers) take care of them.  Unfortunately, the majority of missionaries, and Christian relief volunteers often go on mission at their own expense. Rightly speaking, it should not be so. Yet, Paul wants those of us that still do to take courage and know we can at least boast that we've preached the gospel for free, that we are not aimlessly beating the air but to persist in our good fight of faith. He assures us that there is still a crown or reward awaiting us at the last day.

This Christmas season, as you distribute God's resources in your care, remember though that part of what comes into God's house (for the Lord's work) should include those that labor for the Lord in and outside the house... in the market places of the earth, where the rubber meets the road - feeding the hungry, healing & helping the sick or needy, watering the thirsty souls, touching lives and bringing them into the house of the Master.

Just know that we must co-labor to be true team winners - Paul planted, Apollos watered, and God gave the increase for a great harvest. Let's partner for greater results!

Is'nt God so good? Rejoice in the Lord & again I say rejoice. Have a blessed week!

a. This week, Dr. Samson Otuwa, our treasurer will be ministering in Nigeria while attending to other family matters. As some of you may already know, he lost his father a few weeks ago, and the Lord is using him to bring hope and comfort to his mom and other relatives in their village.

Despite the apparent loss, he has the courage to reach out to villagers around Ikwuano by conducting a free Medical Clinic co-sponsored by RNM, Inc. Please pray for the success of the outreach this coming weekend, and for his safety and protection.

Prayer Requests / Answers:
Prayer & Praise points :

  1. Praise God for helping us erect the Storage Shed this past week. Pray that it passes the inspection code of the City of Dickinson next Friday.
  2. Continue to pray for our Water well Rig project fundraising – our goal for the cable tool is $25,000 and we have achieved about 56 % of that goal. Pray and consider how to move us forward by making your own contribution today.  Pray for the Annual Fundraising dinner / Christmas Party coming up soon - Dec. 18 in Dickinson, Texas.
  3. Praise God for the work in Abia State. Pray for Dr. Samson Otuwa & his family as he visits with relatives in Nigeria to strengthen them and minister the love of Christ through the avenue of medicine and primary health care. Pray also that he has a fruitful meeting with Bishop Cyril Okorocha of the Anglican Bishop's Foundation in Owerri, Imo State.
  4. Conntinue to pray for revival in the Church in America today, for the apathy among Christians to cease. May the coming Christmas celebrations indeed be a time to give God glory in your family as we look back to all he has done this year
  5. Praise God for what we have accomplished this year alone with His enabling and your support. We completed 3 new major water well projects supplying a community hospital, a school, and the village of Aro-Ngwa in Abia State of Nigeria. 2 Mission trips that includes ministry to hundreds of prisoners at Aba, School for the blind children, and medical outreach. Over 350 salvations have been reported earlier. Also pray for the 2 well reactivations in progress;  give God praise for the nearly 600 hard bound books for high school / college level training donated to us by the Corporate School, formerly in Houston; the Storage Building just erected (a 10' Wide by 16' Long by 9' high) and other mission trip contributions. Thank God for several other donation of assets (some from Exxon-Mobile / United Way Texas Gulf Coast), and the two fetal monitors (from a local Hospital in Houston Texas) each valued at approximately $20,000; We will need your support to help move these assets to Africa early in 2005. Let me know where you can be of assistance.
  6. Pray for an office helper / book keeper volunteer to assist our treasurer (need only 2-4 hours per week). Let me know if you can serve and leave in Houston area.
  7. Continue to pray for  two drillers urgently needed to work in Nigeria for our ministry for 1 to 6 months , possibly longer as they train the nationals - one for a Cable Tool Drilling, and the other for the LS-200 rig for a short term (3 weeks to 1 month). Pray also for doctors, and skilled computer volunteers to go with our team in either the Fall of 2004, or the Spring 2005 trip.
  8. Pray for Grant writers / volunteers to help with the various programs at RNM, Inc within our vision. We have lots of work to do and need any contribution you can make in time or money.
