The road may be long and difficult, but we're moving on it ... no turning back. Champions condition themselves to win by their sustained training. We labor daily - physically and in prayers as we collaborate with others of like precious faith to win the mark. The goal is to touch the poor and needy, especially children and empower adults with job skills to become micro-producers.  "But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish..." (Psalm 9:18). Become a Relief Ambassador, do not forget the needy by sharing your blessings with others less fortunate. Do something today, tomorrow may be too late. (For the complete article on page 1 of the Newsletter go here).

Mrs. Oge' shares the need for us to invest wisely in things with eternal values - sharing the good news with others. From Isaiah 58:6, James 2:14, Malachi 3:8, and Matthew 25:40 she shows how charity towards the poor and needy is closer to God's heart than any of us humans and why it proves our religious convictions - faith without works is dead! (For more, go here).

Three distinct projects consistent with our ministry goals will be pursued this summer (July 17 through August 10, 2002) namely:

  1. Water well drilling / training of nationals for sustainable development in the three states targeted - Imo, Abia and Anambara. The needs of the drill team, including travel expense are shared for your contribution. as we collaborate with Living Water International, Inc.

  2. Compassionate Medical outreach to rural and urban dwellers in Imo & Abia States to be conducted by two affiliate ministries - MMI (lead by Dr. Stuart Quartemont) and HFNI (lead by Dr. Justina Taube) are shared including the needs to help meet their travel expense and tools / kits for field work in Nigeria.

  3. V-TEN (Vocational Technical Educational Network) skills training in Computer and Internet Fundamentals to various segments of society in Imo State, including computer operations & DTP training to migrant young women at the new vocational training center of the Anglican Dioceses of Owerri.

Mrs. Meriel Bernhard (Ije) tells of her experiences surprisingly very pleasant experiences as she reminisces over her travel journal. This is frank talk and tale of a white American in black Africa. Ije - her new Nigerian name, is a wish word that literally mean to "have a blessed life's journey", or a daughter of peace and good tidings. Click here to read the her article and see some photos taken in Nigeria, including one beside a giant anthill by the Game Reserve / National Wildlife Park. Experience Nigeria / Africa with RNM - be a Relief Ambassador - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/relief_networks/ for action packed missions work.

Clarence (IK, or IKECHUKWU in long form) tells his side of the trip as he experienced Nigeria & its cultures expressed in diverse areas including the African drums and gongs in church worship ... the visit to the Atlantic coast in Lagos and P.H. and the thoughts that these were slave ports a few decades ago... (more at web site, page 4 of Early Summer Newsletter).

In anticipation of our drilling rig purchase for the RNM water well ministry, our volunteers - Dr. A. Sunny Okorie and Dr. Samson Otuwa went to the Quantum Lakes Drill Camp run by Living Water International of Sugar Land Texas in March. In this short article, Dr. Okorie shares his experiences at the camp drilling the well, learning to use the tools, and a bit about the people that attended from all of the US and Canada.
