3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Do your actions mean "Who Cares?"

Are you only out & about for your own things with no care for others, even those perishing in unbelief and going to hell? Are you daily re-evaluating your pursuits whether they indeed are God's purposes for your life and the people you should care about? Here the Scriptures admonishes to take some moments to care for the interests of others, their needs, and aspirations -- that brings glory to God and brings us in line with His will & purpose for us today. I invite you to enjoy these reflections on the humility of Christ in Philippians 2 as we allow Him to stimulate the needed change in our lives.

Now Our Upcoming Trip to Nigeria

In late October 2007, we travel back to Nigeria for my late mother's funeral & memorial services as her remains are laid to rest Nov. 2nd, 2007 in Umunneme Ogberuru in Imo State. Late Madam Margaret M. Okorie (1932- Aug.18, 2007) is survived by her 6 children, many grand children & other relatives. She died a Christian and trusted Christ as her Savior, and so we believe she's resting in His bosom (John 14:1-2)

During the trip, we plan to complete 2 new water well projects - 1 for the local church she attended - St. Peter's Anglican Church in her memory, and the other to be dedicated to honor our late brother - Harry Westmoreland (a missionary & former board member of Living Water Int'l ), who invented the LS 100 / 200 series and helped us train the first LS 200 rig operators in Ogberuru Nigeria at Eziama where we attempted to drill the first well for that community and it's High School.

The 2 well projects will serve a population of over 7200 people.

Water Well Reports

Since July, this year, we have been averaging 3 new wells a month, and will continue to trust God with your partnership that this momentum will keep building up to take us to a new level by 2008, especially now that we have the big rig Ebenezer I & it's support truck - Ebenezer II coming into full operations.
By end of August, we finished our deepest well so far at 380 feet with Ebenezer I at Umuchoke in Amaigbo of Isu Local Government Area, and installed a submersible pump to run a very successful pump test early in Sept. 2007, which demonstrated a good productive aquifer.

Other wells completed in Sept. are as follows:

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of our sponsors and big sister partner ministry - Living Water Water International, Inc.

Alternatives to Constant Aid Programs

In the last edition, we asked - if Micro-Credit Programs could be a way out for the poor & needy to ever get out of the cycle of poverty & violence? Will access to financial capital make a difference for the poor with great business ideas that can stimulate economies in their communities?
Should we as Christians be involved in this, and use it as an opportunity to preach the gospel? The answer is a resounding yes. Recently, follow research studies, RNM Board approved a micro-credit support initiative for Nigeria and Sierra Leone that be fully activated in 2008. We believe that in this way, we can be an important player in the global relief & development field to end or contribute towards the effort to break the cycle of poverty, disease, and violence in Africa. This challenging issues have seemed to elude many big NGO players who continue to use handouts such as the unending food aids to Africa, parts of South America, or the 3rd World countries in general as a solution. The new strategy includes training & equipping the people to go get the fish for themselves, with small investments in the tools they need... instead of pre-occupying in feeding them with fish all the time.

Immediate Needs:

We need two new generators to power a 1 HP to 2.5 HP submersible pumps for our two pilot projects in Sierra Leone. The specification is 6 to 8 KVA (approx. 8000 Watts) capable of delivering better than 20 Amps at 240 Volts AC. These power generators cost about $2000 to $2500 USD. If you can help, do contact us ASAP.

We also need a crew truck with double cab, for example a Ford F350, 250 Diesel or similar power truck with trailer hitch would work.
