  1. (cont...) Engr. Metibaiye suggested that we include the idea of Poverty Reduction in our conception of solutions proposed to them for partnership or small grants to RNM, Inc. Our Abuja representative, Mr. Vidal Wachuku, a corporate law attorney, accompanied us.

trained volunteers will train the local people who will continue with the work, after we leave, with the supervision of our local regional representatives.

Meeting human needs as we joyfully serve the Lord together in new ventures and regions beyond!

9.   We were able to discuss V-TEN concepts with several individuals & potential contributors, and to appraise the cost of erecting a V-TEN building and related infrastructure for our V-TEN model schools envisaged for the Nigeria Pilot Project Initiative for the States of Imo, Abia and Anambra.
10.   Re-established contacts with a number of other friends in ministry for possible partnerships and empowerment assistance to their workers who are potential trainers in our “Train the Trainer” approach to skill transfer to developing countries in appropriate and affordable technology areas. This included discussions & prayer time with Charles Ita in Jos, and Dr. Ben Mbata in Owerri Total Care Clinic for the furtherance of their rural clinic outreach with volunteer doctors from Houston next year.

Future Plans & Prayer Needs
  • Drill 9 more Water Wells for Ogberuru to adequately serve this badly disadvantaged population of nearly 12,000 people.
  • Train the native volunteers from each of the village wards to assist with further drilling, bush pump installation, & maintenance on the next Mission trip II. Target completion time for Ogberuru is 2-3 years.
  • Deploy other drilling teams to do 50 – 100 additional Water Wells for disadvantaged Rural Communities in Imo, Abia and Anambara States as specified in our Nigeria Initiative proposal. Target completion time is 5 – 8 years, the Lord willing.
  • Raise funds to purchase the 3 rigs to enable us to economically implement projects in a timely fashion. This is our biggest challenge in terms of what is most appropriate and practical. Each rig will cost approximately $12,000 to purchase, and about $5,500 would ship all 3 to Nigeria in one container if done at the same time. The idea is to have a mud-rotary rig for each of the 3 States. Our US... continued top-right

  • Work with other friends of the ministry and the board to recruit V-TEN volunteers through good campaigns or recruiting effort.
  • Produce effective communication materials & Web Site to convey our vision and help generate funding & support.
  • Develop a Partnership & grant Proposal for submission to World Bank Africa Region Initiative on CDD and Poverty Reduction Program in areas of their interest in Nigeria.
  • Solidify contacts and Partnership effort with LifeWater International and the Drill Camp Training for RNM Volunteers in the Fall of 2001. Generate grants or sponsors for interested volunteers who may not be able to afford the cost of the camp (estimate is between $500 - $750 for 4 days) for the drilling rig operation or bush pump installation and maintenance course.
  • If God gave us 625 souls on this first trip, we can believe Him for a minimum of 30% more souls or up to it’s 100% mark (62,500 souls) by the time we do 100 wells in those 3 States with a population of approximately 12.5 million people.
  • Pray for the success and adequate support of the Total Care Clinic’s rural outreaches, and enough medical volunteers for next year’s venture with Dr. Samson Otuwa & his colleagues from the Texas Children’s Hospital.
  • Many thanks to those of you who gave money and prayed for the success of this trip. You definitely have a share in the eternal rewards from this work knowing the high value God places on one soul (Acts 17: 26-31; Hebrews 6:10). Please call or write us to volunteer to go or pledge support for a water well drilling rig.

Remain blessed as you continue to share what the Lord lays on your heart with us for the continued support of this ministry.
