 Water well Project Report – Nigeria

Dates Drilled: May 28-June 4, 2005; Photos

1.   GENERAL INFORMATION: Wisdom (Junior) Seminary Secondary School (WSSS), Mgboko

This well is located at Wisdom Seminary Secondary School, Mgboko, Obingwa L. G. A.  Abia State Nigeria.

 2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WELL:

People Served - total in number, not families: The well will serve not only the 100 students here, but also their Mgboko community hosts of over 2700 people. 

    GPS Coordinates:

     Latitude: 05° 11 .710 N;      Longitude:  007° 22.913 E;     Altitude:  247ft 

      Total Depth: 172 ft. – formation mixed; sand stone at 140-145 ft.  Static Level: 55ft

      Diameter of Borehole:  6 inches;      Diameter of Casing: 5 inches; Casing Material:  P.V.C. pipes                    

      Screen: 15ft. screen at 155-170 ft.                                          

      Gravel Pack: yes, well was gravel packed above the screen level.

      Pump type: 2 H.P. Sumo submersible pump.                            

3. FINAL WELL CONSTRUCTION:

    3.1 Well Seal: well was sealed properly with cement to prevent any contamination. 

3.2 Well Pad Construction: Reasonably finished. 

3.3 Disinfection of the Well: Household bleach (chlorine) was used to disinfect it. 

4. HYGIENE:

This will be done at the commissioning. 

5. TESTIMONIAL:

The students and the villagers are so thankful to have a clean, convenient, source of water.  The girls among them were seen dancing as pure under ground water shot into the air for the first during development with an air compressor. 

6. EVANGELISM: 

As the school shares the bore hole with the neighboring community, they will be more open to hear the gospel on on-going bases from the seminarians. Relief Network Ministries, Inc. will also host an evangelistic outreach in the Fall at Mbgoko during our next Mission trip to Nigeria.
